Break away to beautiful living

ON YOUR OWN PRIVATE WINE FARM

Turning into the tree-lined path leading to the farmhouse on Maison estate, is like stepping into a world which operates by a completely different set of rules. Set against the magnificent backdrop of the Franschhoek mountains, Maison is about celebrating slow, relaxed living and combining it with the beauty of contemporary design.

Whether you soak up the South African sun and enjoy the breathtaking views of the vineyard from the main pool deck or snuggle up in front of one of the three fireplaces during the picturesque winter months, you’ll be experiencing the Cape Winelands in the most authentic way possible — from the privacy of your own wine farm.

A FARMHOUSE WITH A DIFFERENCE

Following the restrained, sophisticated design principles of owners Kim Smith and Chris Weylandt, the original barn built in 1796 has been converted into a contemporary architectural masterpiece. The farmhouse features 4 en-suite bedrooms while a separate suite for 2 annexed to the old stable block is the perfect spot for a teenager or traveling staff member.

Designed for good living, the farmhouse is spacious and luxurious yet well-considered and respectful of its breathtaking surroundings, with remnants of the original barn bearing witness to the passing of time. Large windows and doors blur the boundary between inside and outside living.
